IDUMUESAH VIGILANTE GROUP POISED TO FIGHT CRIME

IDUMUESAH (Ika Weekly) – Members of vigilante group in Idumuesah kingdom have expressed their desire to assist the police in fighting all forms of crimes in the area.

                

Making their intention known at the Okpara-Uku palace when the new Divisional Police Officer CSP Stephan Musa paid them a familiarization visit, the Chairman of the vigilante group in the area chief Dr., Chukuka Onotor said the youths in the area have always co-operated with the law enforcement agents in their efforts to prevent crimes in the area.

                

Chief Dr. Onotor who is a Traditional Medicine Practitioner and Uwana Oba Eze of Idumuesah kingdom said Idumuesah youths are ready to comb, the area with a view to spot out criminals if they were armed with the necessary tools.

                

Addressing members of the community, the new D.P.O. CSP Stephen Musa said his visit was to know the security problems in the area and to find ways of solving them, as he appealed to the youths to co-operate with the law enforcement agents so as to make Idumuesah crime-free.

                

He appealed to them not to over react over issues so that they do not become accused instead of being complainants, as he further appealed to them not to engage in cultism and other social vices.

                

Receiving the D.P.O on behalf of the Okpara-Uku in council, the Eribo of Idumuesah kingdom, Chief S.E. Otonekwu expressed the community’s happiness for his familiarization visit as he gave the assurance that as a peace- loving kingdom, the people of Idumuesah will always co-operate with the police in order to ensure peace and progress in the kingdom.
