CLERGYMAN ADVISES GROUP TO CHANGE ITS NAME

Members of Men to Men based in Agbor in
Ika South Local Government Area have been advised to change the name of their
association to a more responsible and acceptable one, as the name Men to Men
sounds fetish and immoral.

            The
advise was given by a clergyman, Venerable Jonathan Adudu (JP) of St. Barnabas
Anglican Church, Owerre-Olubor, in Ika North East Local Government Area. He
noted that the name does not in any way portray the association as responsible,
adding that Men to Men, convey the impression that the members of the group may
be inclined to homosexuality.

            Ven.
Adudu wondered why a supposedly responsible young men would choose to adopt a
name that portrays them as being involved in immoral activities that border on
homosexuality.

            He
therefore advised the leadership of the association to adopt a better and more
society friendly nomenclature, so that people would not be viewing them as
social deviants. He noted that names are very vital to any human being, group,
community or nation, adding that a name could promote or destroy any body or
institution. He however commended their charity work demonstrated in their
recent visit to Job Orphanage.
