AGBOR (Ika Weekly) – A man was on Thursday attacked and beaten to stupor by some persons suspected to be attached to the constituency office of the member, representing Ika Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representative.
The man who gave his name as Engr. D.C Nwafajoku while narrating the incident to our reporter said that he was driving along Old Lagos/Asaba road when he received a phone call and had to park by the road side in front of the building housing the constituency office.
According to Engr. Nwafajoku, who is also the Isama of Ute-Ogbeje, he was yet to start answering the call when some group of young men appeared and pounced on him, dragging him out of his car, while hitting him all over his body, thereby inflicting serious body injuries on him. He was allegedly accused of wrong parking. His story was corroborated by many eyewitnesses including Chief Paul Boi who attested to the fact that the young man was thoroughly beaten.
Most of them decried the base attitude of the young men who rejected all entreaties from those who ran to the scene to restore sanity.
It was even said that some of the persons who came to the rescue of Engr. Nwafajoku were also attacked.
Engr. Nwafajoku, who is an iron construction engineer said that he was willing and ready to pursue the case to its logical conclusion. As at the time of filing this report, the attack victim was still at the hospital receiving treatment.
