I was never convicted! – Festus Iwerebor

It will be recalled that in a news report published in the Nigerian Tribune, Mr. Festus Iwerebor, the Ika North East chairmanship aspirant for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was reported to have been convicted in Austria on drug charges as well as illegally duping a visa seeker.

In a swift reaction, Mr Festus Iwerebor denied the report calling it false. In an email to Ikaworld.com, Mr. Iwerebor said “i wish to draw your attention to series of disparaging reports on my person”. According to him, the reports of his alleged conviction can be attributed to “faceless political opponents”.

Mr. Festus Iwerebor also told Ikaworld.com that he has written a rejoinder to that news report. However, Ikaworld.com did not publish the rejoinder as we were not aware of its publication. Ikaworld.com will publish the rejoinder if and when it is sent to us.

In a reply to Mr. Festus Iwerebor, Ikworld.com stated its interest in interview him on these and other issues, giving him the opportunity to set the record straight. We are looking forward to publishing our interview with mr. Festus Iwerebor in the nearest future.
