UPPER ODOZI RESIDENTS DECRY EROSION HAVOC

One
of the residents, Mrs. Comfort Agwaze who made the complaint in Ika Weekly
Office Tuesday amidst tears, said the flood of Monday night rain caused so much
damage to her personal building at No.
4 Upper Odozi Street that it will cost her so much
to put in order.

Mrs.
Agwaze who said she had predicted the menace that would be caused by flood
during rainy season to the houses along Upper Odozi
by Osunhor, but that the contractors handling the Osunhor project paid deaf
ears to her earlier warnings, regretted the sudden damage of her compound
occasioned by the flood. ?I personally constructed this gutter since 1980 to
avoid my house been damaged by erosion. But since these contractors handling
Osunhor Street diverted the gutter to suit their work, my house is near
collapse, because all the flood from other streets flow into my house whenever
there is a down pour,? she lamented.

Mrs.
Agwaze appealed to Hon. Ibude to use his good office to save the situation as
she has no money to pay house rent if the continuous erosion finally renders
her homeless.
