Delta North monarchs endorse Ojougboh for Senate

The League of Traditional Rulers in Delta North Senatorial district
has endorsed the candidacy of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh for Delta North
Senatorial seat in the National Assembly in the 2011 general elections.
In a statement at a meeting at the Palace of the Traditional Ruler of
Issele-Uku, Agbogidi Henry Ezeagwuna, the royal fathers said their
decision to back Dr. Ojougboh was because of his exemplary leadership
style, outstanding performance as a public officer and his uncommon
positive disposition to the welfare of the people of the district.
They  described Dr. Ojougboh as a detribalized politician, whose
pedigree as an achiever was unparallel in the political evolution of the
Anioma people of Delta State.
The royal fathers the  statement by the Traditional Ruler of
Atuma-Iga, Obi Chukwuka  Ogbudu, said, “it is for this and many other
reasons that we have to give honour to whom, honour is due.”
They also cited, the uncommon commitment of the aspirant to the
Anioma cause saying that his insistence to actualize the political
aspiration of Anioma people stands him out of the crowd.
Earlier while addressing the Royal fathers Dr. Ojougboh said that
Delta North was in dire need of a senator that will be guided by the
collective interest of the people of the district and promised to make
good use of the opportunity if given the mandate to represent Delta
North in the next National Assembly.
He assured the royal fathers that he will give the people of Delta
North quality, purposeful, effective, and result-oriented representation
adding that he will be a servant and not a boss to the people of the
district.
Foremost traditional rulers at the meeting were the Dein of Agbor
Kingdom, Keagborekuzi the first represented by the Deinsoje of Agbor
Kingdom Chief Ekpu Iwerebor, the third, Obi of Idumudje-unor, the Igwete
of Amai Kingdom Monday Ossai, the Obi of Akumazi, Obi Alikwe the third
and Obi of Obior Agbogidi  Ofuokwu the third among others.
The meeting was also attended by Stake holders and political leaders
of Delta North, including Rtd Rear Admiral Peter Eluma, former
governorship candidate Dr. Joshua Enueme, the immediate past speaker of
the Delta State House of Assembly, Barr. Martin Okonta, Ogbueshi Douglas
Okolotu and the Executive Secretary of  the Cairo Ojougboh campaign
organization Honourable Sylvester among others.
