At the
wake of the armed robbery attack hundreds of used and unused bullets littered
the premises of the bank. Old Five Naira notes were also seen everywhere
scattered in front of the bank and along the road immediately after the robbery
operation. Sme persons who sustained various degrees of injury were taken to
the Kifa Clinic few metres away from the bank. A young man who was passing by
and could not be easily identified as at the time of filling this resport, was
however not so lucky, as he was felled by a bullet from one of the robbers. His
body was also taken to Kifa Clinic Mortuary.

the Chairman of the Lorry unit of National Union of Road Transport Workers
Umunede, Mr. Ifeanyi Ukemelem, aka, Old Soldier was felled by the bullets of
the dare devil armed robbers. His body was also taken to the mortuary after the
robbery incidence. Minutes after the armed robbery operation security forces,
including the police and the army arrived the scene of the incident. It was
gathered that majority of the security men within Ika community were detailed
to Asaba along with their colleagues in other parts of the state in preparation
for the visit of the President, Dr. Good-luck Jonathan, to Delta in the
afternoon of that Friday.It
was the consensus of the gathering at the bank after the armed robbery attack,
that adequate security be provided by concerned authorities to protect lives
and properties, including monies belonging to customers in different banks
across the country.
