PROPHET IGBODO

The General Overseer of Divine Faith Evangelical Mission International and the Proprietor of Job Orphanage Home, Prophet Igbodo, gave the charge during a visit to markets round the metropolis on Baleke market day and Afia-Ogbomah (Ime-Obi) Market day; he frowned at the situation where traders display and sell their goods on government road with impunity. He noted that if such negative trend is not properly addressed by the Ika South Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. (Barr.)  Victor Okoh and the newly constituted taskforce committee, the effects of such vices should be better imagined than experienced; saying that it may lead to accidents and loss of lives, as the safety of traders who sell their goods on the roads are not guaranteed. Hence, the call on members of the taskforce to wake up and be proactive in curtailing the excesses of the traders who rather than display and sell their goods in the sheds inside the market, prefer selling on the road.

According to him, Agbor is becoming more developed and congested due to migration. He enjoined traders at the various markets in Ika South Local government area, to give way for human and vehicular movement in the market, emphasizing that lives are endangered whenever traders block the roads within the market, saying that any drunk driver or vehicle whose brake is not in good condition or with failed brake can easily run into the traders. In his words, “human life is precious, and we don’t want to lose our loved ones, hence the appeal to the Ika South Local Government Chairman, Hon. (Barr.) Victor Okoh, members of the taskforce on Traffic Management and Environmental Sanitation.” He also called on members of the taskforce to penalize anyone who is found wanting, so that others can take correction.

Prophet Igbodo, also appealed to Hon. Collins Bello, the Ika South Local Government Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to assist the council chairman to put things in order, so that there will be orderliness and decency in Ika South.
