DUALIZATION: BUSINESSMEN ALONG OLD LAGOS /ASABA ROAD CRY OUT

Business men between the St. John Anglican Church and first Bank Plc axis of the Old Lagos Asaba road have cried out to government and well meaning individuals in Ika land to come to their rescue as the on going dualization work on the road is seriously affecting their business. They said that because of the huge quitter dug right in front of their offices customers find it difficult to come to them one of the business men and chairman of the Otu Eri-Erere an association whose membership is made  up of some business people along the Old Lagos/ Asaba road, Mr. Anthony Ijeh, told Ika Weekly that the huge quitter in front of their offices /stores was dug by Hi-Tech in August, 2011 and since then no effort has been made to complete work on it, saying that they now use plank to cross the quitters before they could get to their office. Mr. Ijeh while decrying the slow pace of business in the area occasioned by the presence of the huge and unfinished damage said that they have on their own met severally with a staff of Hi-Tech (name with held) who revealed to them that the quitter have not be completed because of the presence of Tec communication Digital Box on that side of the road. Mr. Ijeh who stated that they are not in any way against the construction around their office premises but work on it should be speed up. When Ika Weekly visited the area on Wednesday every, there was no sign that any service work have been done on the quitter’s while offices in the area have host their entrance point in the process.It was gathered that no compensation have been paid to any of these businessmen for destroying parts of their offices nor was there any letter of appeal forwarded to them for the delay of work. Hhowever, now that Hi-Tech recently resumed work on the old Lagos Asaba road, it is expected that they will listen to the cries of the affected businessmen on the road whose only source of lively hoods are being stopped because of the abandonment of the quitters directly dug in front of their offices and stores.
