Suspected
cultists numbering up to twelve in number on Wednesday evening at Boji- Boji,
Owa, Ika Northeast Local Government Area, Delta State brutalized and injured a
popular psychotherapist in Ika land known as Mr. Friday Ehiwarior.
Mr. Ehiwarior who was in Ika
Weekly office on Thursday 6th March, 2013 with the help of his friends and in
pains narrated the bitter encounter he had with some suspected cultists “I was
in a hotel at Hausa Street, Boji- Boji, Owa relaxing with a bottle of drink
when suddenly a young man who identified himself as a police man excused me.
When I stood up to see him he asked me if I am an axe man. I answered him no
and asked why he was asking but he never
answered me anything, instead he picked a phone and made some calls. Few
minutes after about eleven boys on motorcycles came to where we were standing.
Before i could do anything they descended on me and started hitting me with
planks in every part of my body. They did not end there they want ahead to tear
my clothes and made away with my wrist watches and jewelries. They even dragged
me along with them to Ugbaja police station from where they took me to Agbor police station.|”
Mr. Ehiwairo said he lost over N338,000 from the attack and at the time of
briefing the press he was still on walking stick his eyes were still covered
with blood. He called on the relevant authorities to let the law take its full
course. However, seven of the suspected cultists including the said police
officer is already in police custody. Attempt made by our reporter to get their
names failed.
