The former member, House of
Representatives and the Akinowa of Agbor kingdom, Hon, Chief Dr. Cairo Ojougboh
has donated notebooks to some primary schools in Ika South Local Government
Area, Delta State. Presenting one hundred copies of the notebooks to Evang.
Mrs. Ruth Amieghemen, the assistant Headmistress of Erigbe Primary School,
Agbor on behalf of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
chairman in Ika South Local Government Area. Hon Isaac Ulebor said that the
donation was aimed at promoting education in the local government. He urged the
pupils to take their education seriously by making sure that they read their
books and attend classes regularly. He said that Dr. Ojougboh is a man who
loves education and will continue to support in any positive effort that will
enhance the development of education in Ika South and Delta State in general.
He thanked the headmistress, Mrs. Osian V.N, teachers and staff of Erigbe
Primary School for the good work they are doing, saying that they should not relent
as the issue of proper child education is not the responsibility of parents
alone.
Responding
on behalf of the headmistress of the school, Evang. Ruth Amieghemen thanked Dr.
Ojougboh for the gesture. She recalled how two years ago the same Dr. Ojougboh
donated textbooks and toys to pupils and those in kindergarten (KGS). She
prayed to God to reward the PDP leader.
She called on other well meaning people of the local government to
emulate Dr. Ojougboh as government alone cannot do everything for the people.
Onyeka Okocha and Praise Ugboh, primary six pupils of the school, who spoke on
behalf of others thanked Dr. Ojougboh and prayed God to give him long life, and
good health.
Similar
donations were made at Itameze Primary School, Emuhu, Osaigbobu Primary School,
Abavo, among other primary schools in Ika South by Dr. Ojougboh.
Comrade
Michael Ehiwario, who also donated hundreds of copies of the notebooks on
behalf of Dr. Ojouggboh to the schools, stated that Ojougboh is a selfless
leader who is passionate about the development of education in Ika South,
hence, he will continue to do his best to support it. He urged the pupils of
the schools that benefitted from the gesture to be good ambassadors of their
parents, school, and community so that people can boldly come out to support
them educationally. Mrs. Onyeanakwe Mary, headmistress of Itaneze Primary
School and Mrs. Obiohan P.M. of Osaigbobu Primary School expressed gratitude to
Dr. Ojougboh and urged him not to relent. The notebooks which carry the
pictures of Dr. Ojougboh were also donated to Ihun-Iyase Progressive Union,
Alihame vigilante, and some associations in Agbor.
The
Alihame Vigilante chairman, Mr. Sunday Oshiele and the secretary Alihame
community, Mr. Osanu Nwadogie appreciated Dr. Ojougboh, who they described as a
worthy son of Agbor kingdom. They called on the people of Ika South to rally
round the former law maker as he is a God sent.
On
their parts, Orewa Ekene, vice-chairman Ihun-Iyase Progressive Union, Chuks
Otuare, Ojougboh Emmanuel, secretary, Justus Nwachokor, financial secretary
commended Dr. Ojougboh. They prayed God to keep him alive so that he will
continue to do more for the people.
