Clara Ibude Angels Footballs Club of
Agbor were in high spirit on Saturday, 1st June, 2013 as they defeated Tokas
Queen of Lagos three goals to nothing in a keenly contested match played at
Agbor Township Stadium.
The
Angels, who put up a superlative performance throughout the ninety minutes of
play opened scoring after twenty-eights minutes and made it two goals a few
minutes before the first half of the match.
Efforts
by the hard fighting Tokas Queens to equalize proved abortive as C.I Angels
added one goal in the second half to make it three goals. The match ended three
goals to nothing the stated goal margin
in favour of the highly improved Agbor based football club.
Answering
questions from newsmen, the chairman/founder of the club, Hon Hilary Ibude said
the victory was as a result of the restructuring in the team and hardwork on the side of the
players. He expressed optimism that the club will win all its remaining
matches.
The
technical adviser of the club, Mr. Sunny Osunde attributed the victory to hardwork
and proper cohesion, pointing out that C.I Angels is just new in the national
league, but its now competing favourably
with clubs that have been in the
league for more than thirteen years. While calling on the government and
multi-national companies to assist the club in any way they can, he commended
Hon Hilary Ibude for the sacrifice he is making particularly in the area if funding.
