DELTA STATE GOVT. COMMENDED OVER INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT IN DPPA ESTATE, AGBOR

 

Delta State
Government has been commended for its sustained commitment towards the
infrastructural development of the Delta Development Property Authority (ADPA)
Low Income Housing Estate, in Agbor, headquarters of Ika South local government
area of the state.

      The commendation was contained in a
statement which was jointly issued by the chairman of the allottee Landlords
Association of the DDPA Low Income Housing Estate, Agbor, Mr. Felix Osajie and
the secretary, Mr. Cyprian Okoduwa on behalf of the residents of the estate.

                According to the statement which
was made available to the press at Agbor, the allottee landlords in the estate
said that they were eternally grateful to the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel
Uduaghan and the state commissioner  for
Housing, Chief Paulinus  Akpeki, as well
as his Power and Energy counterparts, Mr. Charles Emetulu for spreading the
infrastructural development initiative of the state government to the estate.

                “We are eternally grateful to
the Delta State Government for the ongoing electrification project in the
estate”, they said in the statement, adding that the installation of two brand
new 300 KVA electricity  transformers and
50 concrete electric poles would significantly boost electricity supply in the
area.

                The allottee landlords who
expressed appreciation to the state government for ejecting the operators of
donkey abattoirs from the estate noted that their ejection from the estate has
given residents in the area a new lease of life as they now breath in fresh air
in an unpolluted environment.

                While describing Chief Akpeki
sustained interest in the welfare of allottee landlords in the estate as
legendaryand unprecedented, they appealed for regular maintenance of the earth
roads in the estate, even as they called for the construction of drainage
system on the first street and Eboka Street in order to checkmate the
monumental effect of gully erosion now ravaging the area to drain water to
Orogodo River as shown in the estate master plan.
