IKAWORLD.COM – In spite of allegations of being an ex-convict in Austria and on-going investigations by SSS, Ika Weekly reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship aspirant, Mr. Festus Iwerebor, has been adopted as the party’s candidate for the forth- coming Local Government Election in Ika North Local Government Area.
According to Ika Weekly newspaper report, the adoption was said to have taken place after a meeting last weekend by all the aspirants, where it was unanimously resolved that Mr. Iwerebor flies the party’s flag at the December polls.
Reacting to the action of the aspirants, Chief Humphrey Iwerebor, the chairman of the party in the Local Government Area hailed it as a positive decision; noting with satisfaction that his credible and result-oriented leadership has won his son the ticket. He said that it is always good to give focus and honest leadership, with emphasis on the intrest of those being led.
He charged those in leadership position, at whatever level to always lead with integrity and sacrifice.
On his own part, Mr. Festus Iwerebor commended his co-aspirants for the good gesture and the sacrifice they made in seeing that he gets the party’s ticket, promising to transform the Local Government Area when elected chairman.
He revealed that one of his plans is to build an ultra modern trailer park, which will involve the private participation.
Mr. Iwerebor stated that he will work out ways to boost the internally generated revenue of the council area, stressing that the era of just waiting every month end for revenue from the federation account was over.
He therefore charged all PDP faithfuls in the area to remain loyal to the party, as according to him, ‘better days are ahead’.
