Blessing Igiebor installed Enogie of Idumodin

 IGBANKE – The coronation ceremony of the Heir
apparent to the throne, Prince Blessing Otabor Igiebor as the Enogie of
Idumodin-Igbanke took place at the weekend amidst pomp and ceremony.

The coronation rites were performed by
representatives of the Benin Monarch, Chief J.O Onaghise, the Uso of
Benin Kingdom and Chief D.A. Ekhorutomwen, the Orienzowoda of Benin
Kingdom.

The ceremony which was well attended by clan heads
across the Igbanke community including personalities who have excelled
in their various fields of endeavours was chaired by Hon. Josef
Omorotionmwan,
chairman, Board of Directors Bendel Newspaper Company Limited, publishers of The OBSERVER Titles.
Amongst those who graced the occasion included, the
Edo State Commissioner for Special Duties, Oil and Gas, Hon. Peter Ikem,
Prince Moses Uwaifo amongst others.

In his opening remark, the chairman of the occasion,
Hon. Josef Omorotionmwan, noted that God had already destined the
moment to come, and prayed the Almighty to grant the newly installed
king long life and prosperity on the throne.

In his words: “I believe that this ceremony will speak for a long time to come”.

Earlier in the community’s address read by Mr. E.U
Uwabor, the people noted that Igbanke was a homogeneous community
bounded by one culture and tradition.

The people remarked that the community was a
subordinate of the Benin Monarch, maintaining that it will continue to
pay its royal homage to the Benin monarch.

The people therefore acknowledged the role of the
representatives of the Benin Monarch towards making the ceremony a
successful one.

They however, appealed to all and sundry for full
support towards ensuring a successful reign of the king on the throne.Meanwhile, The Idumodin, Igbanke family Union, comprising sons and daughters at
home and abroad, has sent a message of congratulations to His Royal
Highness, Blessing Otabor, Igiebor III, Enogie of Idumodin, Igbanke,
Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, on the occasion of the
conclusion of the burial rites of his late father, HRH. W.O. Igiebor,
(JP) who was the Enogie of the community.

The family union also felicitated with HRH, Igiebor
III on his own installation, scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2011,
at the palace ground, Idumodin, Igbanke, at 10am. Prompt.

A statement by Hon. Festus Edobor on behalf of the
family, however, indicates that Hon. Josef Omorotionmwan, Chairman,
Board of Directors, BNCL will be expected to chair the occasion.

The statement, further wished the new Enogie long
life and prosperity on the throne of his ancestors, even as it expressed
hope that his reign will usher in more peace and understating among his
people.
