The fatal motor accident that
claimed one life and left two seriously injured, took place between Uronigbe and Abavo axis of the road. The
victims of the accident who were aides to the deputy governor were immediately rushed to the Central
Hospital, Agbor for medical attention. The Deputy Governor, Prof Amos Utuama, who arrived the hospital a few
minutes later discovered that the hospital was in a total black out as its emergency ward was in total disarray.
In the long run, workers at the hospital resorted to the us of a generator in order to please the
Deputy Governor.
According to eyewitness
account, the Deputy Governor expressed dissatisfaction about the non-chalant
attitudes of the workers in the hospital
and the state of power failure in the hospital.
Further finding, proved that
the Deputy Governor’s entourage mysteriously ran into a trailer that was coming
from the opposite side. As one immediately gave up the ghost and two others who
sustained serious injuries were rushed to university of Benin Teaching Hospital
(UBTH) for proper and fast medical attention as there was nothing on ground at
Agbor general hospital to treat them.
The medical doctor attached
to the entourage accompanied the victims to Benin. As at the time of filling
this report, the dead body of the victim has been deposited at the Central
Hospital mortuary Agbor.
