OWA-OYIBU GENERAL HOSPITAL IN SHAMBLES, BEGS FOR COMMUNITY SUPPORT – IKA WEEKLY

It’s an acknowledged fact that, Owa-Oyibu General
Hospital, the home of political icon such as Chief  Nduka Irabor, Hon Festus Iweriebor, Humphry
Iweriebor the Ogidi one of Africa, Chief Lawrence Oshiegbu,  Hon. Dada Ijeh Rt Major General E.O. Usiade,
Prince Nduka Obaigbena the Duke, is in shambles and this also include other
developmental issues that needed  to be
addressed.

It is saddening to say that almost all the facilities
in the hospital, most especially the bole hole, are dilapidated. There is
no  good ambulance, and have not been
taken care of by neither the government nor Owa- Oyibu indigenes.

Speaking with Ika Weekly, an Owa-Oyibu indigene who
spoke on the condition of anonymity, commended Ika Weekly for putting the
community  general hospital into
consideration stressing that, nobody is patronizing the hospital as they are
supposed to be due to lack of maintenance by the government and the citizen of
Owa he also blamed the leaders in Owa Oyibu for not contributing to its
development.

When Ika Weekly visited the hospital on Thursday, 8th
August, 2012, it discovered that nearly all the equipment are not working, most
of the offices have leaking roofs while there is no  bore hole supply, some portion of land
allocated to the hospital has turned
into a farm land, and covered with weeds.

To gain the lost glory of the hospital there is need
for Owa-Oyibu sons and daughters to come to the aid of the hospital since
government has refused to put the hospital into good use.
