Ika Weekly Newspaper, the favourite
community tabloid in Ika land clocked six years last month. As part of the
activities that marked the event, the publisher, Mr. Steve Ekiri- Mekiriuwa
Ashien and the entire staff of Ika Weekly Newspaper on Sunday, 28th April, 2013
gave thanks to God at St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church Agbor. Among those that joined in the thanksgiving were
friends of the Newspaper as well as well-wishers.
Preaching
during the service, Rev. Fr. Michael Okonkwo, stated that in any condition you
find your self you should give thanks to God stressing that when we thank God
for what he has done for us, He will do more.
Speaking
after the church service, Mr. Ashien stated that the aim of the thanksgiving
was to express gratitude to God for sustaining Ika Weekly since it was
established six years ago. He promised that the Newspaper will continue to do
its best in the dissemination of information to the public without fear or
favour inspite of intimidations from some persons and some quarters.
