POLICE MAN KILLED AS GUNMEN ABDUCTS IKA SOUTH COUNCIL BOSS DRIVER

 

The personal driver to the Ika South
Council chairman, Mr. Tony Alizor has been abducted by unknown gunmen.

            He
was abducted on Friday, 5th July, 2013 at Alihame after he was forced out of
the Hilux car he was driving.

            Ika
Weekly gathered that during the attack a police man on mufti who was serving in
Agbor police station, Mr. Ogboi Nkemchor was killed after he mistakenly greeted
the gunmen which report said were on security uniform not knowing they were
kidnappers.

            When
Ika Weekly contacted the office of the chairman, it was told that the abductors
have not called or demand any ransom for the release of the driver.      However, since the incident happened on
Friday, the men of the Agbor police station have been doing their best to make
sure they fish out the unknown gunmen and secure the driver.

            Speaking
to newsmen, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Agbor Police station, SP
Albert Dike Uchechi said it was the saddest news that has ever been reported to
the station.

Sp Uchechi stated that Mr Alizor was
abducted while on his way to park his boss car at Alihame and that the late
police man ran into them unknowingly. According to him, “I am not happy at all
with the recent increased crime rate in my jurisdiction. Anyone found having
hand in these crimes would be seriously dealt with.”

            He
however called on Agbor residents to compliment the efforts of the police in
the fight against crime by blocking all outlets used by criminal and kidnapeprs
and should not fail to give the police necessary information that will lead to
their arrest .

            The
police boss urged the vigilante groups in Agbor metropolis to always be at
alert as he will not stop calling on the government and other well to do Ika
people to come to their aid. “No doubt some Agbor resident know these hoodlums
and their whereabouts. I and my team are out for the perpetrators of this
wicked and heartless act. Enough is enough,” he concluded.

As at the time of filling this report ,
the whereabout of Mr. Tony Alizor is yet unknown and a civilian who shot by the
gunmen receiving treatment in an undisclosed hosptial.
