IKA NORTH EAST COUNCIL CHAIRMAN WELCOME CORPS MEMBERS

 

The chairman of Ika Northeast Local
Government Council, Hon Princess Ijenwa Okunonke has during the week welcomed
the 2013 Batch “B” corps members deployed to Ika North East local government
area.

                The
corp members were visited by the council chairman at the parade ground at INEC
secretariat, Owa-Oyibu.

                Hon
Princes  Okunonke appreciated the corps
members as she urged them to be serious and dedicated to the things that
brought them to the local government. She encouraged them not hesitate to  come to her as  she is accessible.

                She
enjoined the  corps members to lead by
example and to portray good behavior in their place of primary assignment,
adding that they should also discard negative vices.

                Hon
Okunonke made it clear that corps members should always seek permission before
embarking on any journey and be responsible.

                She
asked them to take advantage of the rich cultural heritage of Ika land.         The council boss encouraged the corpers
to have a team spirit to work together in other to better the lots of Ika North
east.

                The
chairman further stressed on lateness, absentism and absconding from work,
urging them to adhere strictly to the rules and regulation of NYSC scheme.

                Responding,
the field Inspector for NYSC, Ika North east, Mr. Peter O. Anabor, thanked the
chairman, for her motherly advise to the corp members in her domain. He also
appreciated her for her numerous assistance to corp members.

                He
used the opportunity to advise head of schools having corp members in their
institutions to meaningfully engage the corpers and not to allow them  leave their duties unnecessarily, adding that
any corp member who stays absent from his or her duty post should be reported
to the NYSC Secretariat in the local government.
