FAMILY OF SLAIN NURTW MEMBER CRY FOR JUSTICE

 

 

The family
members of late Comrade  Isah Aluka, an
executive  member of National Union of
Road Transport Workers (NURTW) ,Ika South branch, who was stabbed to death last
week in the recent fracas in the union have cried out for justice.

            The family members who have been in
mourning mood since the incident happened prayed God to fish out the killers of
their bread winner.

            Elder sister of the deceased union
leader, Mrs. Joy Pius disclosed to newsmen that one Henry Odudu, a native of
Ihaikpen, Ime-Obi was the person that stabbed her brother. She described her
late brother as an easy going man who never meant bad for people. She appealed
to the government, as well as concerned individuals in the society to ensure that
justice prevails.

            The eldest daughter of the deceased,
Loveth Aluka, in tears told Ika Weekly her father left home at about 7. 30am
that fateful day he was killed, not knowing that he will never returned. She
described her father as a loving and caring man who will be missed by them.

            The late Comrade Isah Aluka,
according to a family member, who refused to disclosed his name was discharged
from hospital the week he was killed.

            The family source said the alleged
killer of their brother, Odudu was his childhood friend and that they were both
members of NURTW, Ika South branch. He said the whereabout of Odudu since the
day the incident happened is yet unknown as they not been seen him since then.
He appealed to the government to ensure that his brother is buried on time as
they do not want his corpse to stay long in the mortuary.

            Late Isah Aluka, Ika Weekly gathered
was born in 1968 to the family of Aluka in Ogbeisogban quarters, Ime Obi,
Agbor. He is survived by one wife and five children.
