OTOLOKPO MONARCH CELEBRATES NEW YAM FESTIVAL

 

Otolokpo kingdom
in Ika North East local government area was agog last weekend as the Obi, His
Royal Majesty, Alioma  Collins Ezenweali
and his subjects celebrated their  new
yam festival. The festival  was attended
by eminent personalities from far and near.

Speaking with
newsmen during the celebration, Chief Francis Ojei and Chief  Elue Osele the Owe of Otolokpo kingdom
expressed gratitude to God for keeping them alive to witness the 2013 new yam
festival.

Beaming with
smiles, the stylish monarch thanked God for His blessing upon him and his
subjects.

He advised
youths in the area to get involved themselves in activities that will promote
peace and unity. He appealed to the Delta State government to repair the
Otolokpo-Umunede road, saying that it has gone beyond what the community can
repair. He also charged government to look into the epileptic electricity
problem facing the kingdom.

The celebration
attracted the presence of Chief Jude Ogbekile, the Omekeokwu of Otolokpo
kingdom, Chief Friday Eluro, the Onyewebuodason 1 of Owa kingdom, members of
Delta Unity Group, Mrs. Rita Balogun, secretary to Ika North East local
government area, the Obi of Ute-Okpu, HRM Obi Chukwuka Solomon, Chief Kingsley
Osaije, the Okwezekwu of Otolokpo, Chief David Ogigai, the Okiroro of Otolokpo,
Chief Nwokenye, the Inneh of Owa kingdom, Chief Dr. Ayo Ben, the Ezenweali of
Akumazi kingdom, Chief Morka Monday, the Onyekwu-Ihienwemene of Abavo kingdom,
among others.

Princess Ijeanwa
Okunonke, the Ika North east local government chairman was there at the occassion,
but when approached for comment she declined.
