MOVING CAR CRUSHES MOTHER, TWO CHILDREN TO DEATH, ONE INJURED

By Augustine Ekamagule

The
family of Mr. Lawrence Ogumbor of Alisimie, Agbor were thrown into
mourning  a few days  to Christmas as the mother of the home, Mrs.
Faith Ogumbor and two of her children, Chidinma and Onyebuchi were killed by a
hit and run car. While the third daughter of the deceased, Nwakaego escaped by
the whiskers but not without sustaining severe injuries.

            The ugly incident happened on
Saturday, December 21, 2013 near the railway axis of the busy Agbor-Asaba
expressway. The victims were said to be returning from farm when the unexpected
happened. Ika Weekly gathered that the driver of the hit and run car did not
stop after the accident. It said that it was good Samaritans who were passing
by that rushed them to the hospital but unfortunately, three of the victims
(Mrs. Ogumbor, Childinma, and Onyebuchi) died on their way to the hospital.
However, problem of the Ogumbor family became worse when some members of the
public started blaming the deceased woman husband  and head of the home, Mr. Lawrence Ogumbor,
saying that if  he was in good terms with
his wife and children, the incident would not have happened.

            Narrating to newsmen, on his
relationship with his family before the sad incident that befell the home
occurred Mr. Lawrence Ogumbor, said that problem started in the home when his
wife and children one day started calling him evil man, disclosing that one of
his daughters, Gloria, suddenly started behaving strangely by asking other
members of the family to obey her spiritual orders.

            In
the words of Mr. Ogumbor, “the whole thing started three years ago when all of
a sudden in the middle of prayer meeting, my daughter, Glory said that she is
seeing vision and that there is an evil person in the house. In the process, my
eldest son, Chukwuyem threw a bible at me calling me names.  After this experience my wife went and called
my family members and even the Catholic Church people. All efforts to put a
stop to the problem became fruitless. I took the case to the Dein of Agbor
palace. She was summoned but still went ahead to be calling me a wizard. It got
to a stage that my wife and children packed out of the house without  informing me because I live in Asaba. When I
came home one of the weekends, I saw my house empty with doors and gates
opened. Even before she left my house with my children, a serving reverend
father in Ewuru came and administered oath for us using a copy of the Holy
Bible and salt. It was exactly two years after we took the oath that my wife
and two children died. Contrary to what some members of the public are saying,
I am innocent. I did not have a hand in their deaths, I am not a ritualist and
I  did not drive them away from my
house.
