16 YEARS OLD GIRL ARRESTED FOR STEALING N200,000

 

Soldiers deployed from 3 battalion, Warri
to Ika land to help curb crime in the area have declared that 2014 will be a
year of disgrace, reckoning and judgment for all evil doers living in the area.
This statement was made after they arrested one, Faith Ofegare for allegedly
stealing the sum of Two Hundred Thousand Naira at a boutique in Agbor.

Confessing before newsmen, the alleged
thief stated that she was caught while trying to steal the money. According to
her, “I started stealing at my tender age. I am worried living with the bad
habit of stealing. I travel to places with the mission to steal any available
thing. I even steal in the church. The evil spirit of stealing will not let me
be.” She stated.

Ofegare who said that she hails from
Uromi in Edo State, disclosed that she ran away from her parents to have
freedom, adding that she dropped out from secondary school just because of her
stealing habit. She disclosed that she engaged in prostitution when she first
arrived Delta State but later went back to stealing as prostitution was no
longer profitable for her.

She stated that, she goes to shops with
the pretence of buying an item, revealing that a charm was given to her by one
Ezewnwanyi in Asaba, which she use in knowing where money is kept. “Today, I
was caught while trying to make away with two bundles of One Thousand Naira
note denominations in a boutique shop. I am in a big mess. The soldiers and
owner of the shop I was trying to steal from should have mercy on me. Help me
find solution to stop stealing as I am worried and confused. Stealing has given
me a bad name,” she pleaded.

As at the time of filling this report,
Ofegare has been handed over to police men in Agbor police station.
