RAINSTORM WRECKS HARVOC IN UTE-OGBEJE: RENDERS FIVE FAMILIES HOMELESS

Heavy down pour on Monday night November 3, 2014
has wrecked harvoc in Ogbe-Akpun quarters, Ute-Ogbeje in Ika North East Local
government area.

                Properties
worth millions of naira were damaged as four houses built in the same compound
were affected. The roof ceiling and plantain trees of the buildings were blown
off by the windstorm.

                When
Ika Weekly visited the scene of the incident, sympathizers had gathered round
the area with mixed feeling, thanking God for saving the lives of the occupants
of the affected building.

                According
to one of the affected persons, Mr. Albert Chiadika, he  told Ika Weekly that he was with his family
in the house at about 8pm when the rain which devastated his buildings started.

                He
revealed that situation on ground put every member of his family into
confusion, as they are living presently under the mercy of neighbours.

                He
therefore thanked God who has saved the lives of his family members. He
registers his heart felt appreciation to those who accommodated his family.

                He
however appealed to spirited individuals, philanthropists, government and non-governmental
organization to kindly come to their rescue before things get out of hands.

                In
the same vein, Mrs. Rose Nwachorkor a widow and Mrs. Victoria Nwachokor,
victims of the rainstorm lamented the devastating effect of the storm and how
to survive the shock it has caused.

                They
made personate appeal to kind hearted Nigerians to help save the situation so
that their building can be re-roofed and household property restore for them to
come  back their original home.
