QUEEN IKENCHUKWU ASSURES DISABLED PERSONS

IKA WEEKLY – The State Commissioner for Woman Affairs, Community and Social Development, Queen Victoria Ikenchukwu has pledge the State Government’s Commitment to the plight of persons with disabilities in the state.

                

Making the pledge when she addressed some persons who came to her office to register their anger over lack of assistance from the State Government, informed the protesters that Delta State Government was doing every thing possible to assist them adding that all hands must be on deck to give them the necessary assistance to keep life going.

                

The Honourable Commissioner who said she was coming from Eku where she went to handle some matters affecting ex-lepers there, urged the persons with disabilities to exercise a little patience as she promised that Government would look into their plights soon.

                

Queen Ikechukwu then appealed to corporate organizations and individuals to partner with State Government in making life more meaningful person with disabilities in Delta State.

                

Earlier in his speech, the spokesman of Delta State Association of persons with disabilities Mr. Uduoghene Onowighose informed the Commissioner that their mission was to solicit for assistance from the Government to enable them live a normal life.
