A mother of four, and a teacher at Iheoma primary school, Mrs Iyere, wife to Mr. Augustine Iyere, was assassinated at her home.
According to sources that spoke to Ikaworld, Mrs Iyere, who lived along Ojeifo street by Mordi street, was at home when two men came calling. One of them was said to have presented her with a bottle of wine, a bouquet of flowers and a sealed envelope. Just as she was trying to find out the content of the envelope, the second man shot her at close range.
According to witnesses, after shooting Mrs Iyere, the men shot into the air and walked to their car which was parked along Marere st. and drove away.
