UMUNEDE – A pastor residing at Oba quarters, Umunede, was arrested on the 11th of December 2007 for raping a child.
According to our sources, at about 8 am the child’s mother sent her to collect some stitched clothes from the pastor who also works as a tailor. He was said to have lured the girl into the bedroom and raped her. The child’s sister was said to have burst into the room and cut the pastor in the act.
The pastor is cooling his heels in police detention. The child’s father spoke to the members of the press saying that the girl is receiving treatment at the hospital.
