Iwerebor steps down as Chief Omola Ogadi and Mr. James Ebeye (Banco) step up

IKA WEEKLY – The newly elected and inaugurated State Chairman of the People?s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Chief Barr. Peter Nwoboshi on Tuesday performed the official swearing-in ceremony of nine Local Government Area Chairmen of the party in Delta North Senatorial District, in line with those of Delta Central, and Delta South.

Speaking at the ceremony, Barrister Nwoboshi directed the new Local Government Area Chairmen to go home and organize all card-carrying members of the party into one fold as the party no longer has room for the formation of factions within its fold.

He congratulated them for their successful election and appealed to them to be good ambassadors of the party and be prepared for the forth-coming Local Government Election, which he said the party is sure to win.

In Ika North East Local Government Area, Chief Omola Ogadi Managing Director of Legends Hotel Boji-Boji, Owa, was sworn-in as Chairman, while Mr. James Ebeye, alias Banco, Managing Director of Abason Nigeria Limited, Alibuba, Agbor was sworn-in as Chairman of Ika South Local Government Area of the party.

The searing-in ceremony which took place at the Party?s State Secretariat, along Agbor/Asaba Expressway, Asaba attracted a large crowd of party leaders, supporters and well wishers of the elected chairmen across the state.

Addressing party supporters shortly after he was sworn in, Mr. James Ebeye called on all PDP members in Ika South Local Government Area to close ranks and work as members of one family, adding that the call has become necessary because the era of faction was over.

While promising to carry every member along, Mr. Ebeye warned that the party at Local Government Level will not tolerate a situation whereby some members out of their selfish interests resort to creating factions thereby causing unhealthy rivalry within the party.

Ebeye expressed gratitude to the state chairman of the party Chief (Barr.) Peter Nwoboshi for his leadership quality and praised his predecessor in office, Sir Jimmy Okolie, describing him as a man of peace.

Mr. Ebeye therefore appealed to ward leaders of the party to be orderly and organize themselves into formidable force in readiness for the forth-coming Local Government election, warning that any person or group of persons who constitute parallel executive or hold unauthorized meetings other than the ones organized by the elected executives do so at their own risk.

A report from Agbor said Mr. Ebeye and his executive are about taking over the party secretariat along Mariere Street Agbor as arrangement has been concluded for handing over ceremony between the out-going Chairman, Sir Jimmy Okolie and the new Chairman Mr. James Ebeye.
