ONYEGBUNKE’S SCHOLARSHIP: ALL ENCOMPASSING FOR FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES

The university scholarship awarded to Master Frank Onyegbunke is much more mouth watering than ever, going by the revelation of the benefactor, Chief Felix Okonti in a recent letter to the beneficiary sent to Ika Weekly on the 18th of September, 2009.

Master Frank Onyegbunke whose wizardry in the production of prototype houses was made public by Ika Weekly in its Volume 8, 72nd Edition received an instant response from Chief Felix Okonti, a Lagos based philanthropic Ika son and legal practitioner who awarded the 19-year old ex-student of Ute-Okpu Grammar school whiz kid a full time university scholarship, through a telephone call to Mr. Ashien, the publisher of Ika Weekly.

In the letter of award addressed to Master Frank Onyegbunke, Chief Felix Okonti says, "This is to formally covey to our earlier announced automatic scholarship to you to enable you undertake full time studies in any of the following disciplines ? Architecture, Building Technology and Engineering in any Federal University of your choice."

The letter also stated that the scholarship covers the tuition fees, full boarding fees, transportation, clothing and medical allowances during Master Onyegbunke?s period of studies.

Chief Okonti also urged the young man to endeavour to take his studies more seriously in order to enable him receive the best of the world of education, promising that they will endeavour to see that Master Onyegbunke?s industrial exposure in the form of industrial or vacation attachment will be with top rated construction companies during the course of his studies.

It will be recalled that the orphaned Master Frank Onyegbunke?s vision came to him when he visited the palace of the Obi of Ute-Okpu sometime in 2002, where he saw a very beautiful prototype church building. He also disclosed that for lack of finance and materials coupled with school activities, he was not able to achieve much until 2007. Even then, he was only doing it to sell to friends and those who were interested, he said.

The bible says that "For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry." Habakkuk 2:3. This aptly describes the fate of Master Frank Onyegbunke whom God has given an open door to run with his vision, an admirer commented gleefully.

Master Frank Onyegbunke who was full of joy, thanked Ika Weekly, his benefactor Chief Felix Okonti and God Almighty for what he described as a dream. "I am yet to come to terms with the good thing that is happening to me. I promise to do the best within my power to make my benefactor, Chief Felix Okonti proud and to carry on the legacy which he has laid by helping those in need," he proclaimed breathlessly.
