HON. IBUDE HIGHLIGHTS ACHIEVEMENTS; CHARGE THE PEOPLE TO HOLD COUNCILORS RESPONSIBLE FOR CONSTITUENCY PROJECTS

Hon. Ibude who used the occasion to highlight the
achievements so far recoded by his administration said the call has become
necessary to avoid situation where blames will unwittingly be transferred to
the council for non-performance, saying that his administration has made
deliberate effort to enhance the infrastructural level of Ika South Local
Government Area.

The Council chairman noted that “it is in line with
the gospel of Peace and Security, Human Capital and Infrastructural Development
which have become synonymous with the name of our governor as is being
witnessed in every nook and cranny of our great state. There is no doubt that
our governor has performed beyond imagination and the only debt we owe him is
unalloyed support for a second term to continue the good work. And the only
practical way those of us holding political offices can support him is to
follow his foot steps in performance especially as it relates to the
three-point agenda.”

Continuing, he said that “it is in the spirit of PUI
and the three-point agenda of our governor that I present to you, my report
card since assumption of  office. We are
doing this presentation to change the old scenario where politicians were seen
as promise makers who rarely fulfill their promises.” He went on to list some
of the major projects embarked upon by his administration, which include,
asphalt tarring of Odozi Street, rehabilitation of Isede and Prof. Ebie
streets, construction of office blocks for Finance and Treasury departments,

constituency projects to improve the living standard of the grassroot. He also
added that some of the contractors for the various projects are on site and at
different stages of completion.

The Council Boss equally stated that his administration
has been collaborating with security
agencies to maintain peace in the local government area, adding that the
youths who are the vulnerable group have been engaged in the various committees
where revenues are made for the LGA while also economically empowering them.”

He commended the people of Ika South for their
continued support saying that “it is with your cooperation and assistance,
coupled with God’s guidance that we have been able to achieve what I have
enumerated.”

In his remarks, Hon. Paul Ebede pointed out that
Project Uduahan international was very interested in the 3-point agenda of
governor Uduaghan. He said that the group was proud of the recorded
achievements of Hon. Ibude and thanked God for his return back to office after
the 3 months suspension placed on him by the State House of Assembly , which he
stressed was masterminded by people he called “enemies of progress.” “There is
no doubt that Hon. Hilary has performed creditably well, improving the
infrastructural base of Ika South, within the limit of available resources,” he
stated.

He therefore called for continued support from the
people of Ika South for the council chairman, while encouraging him to continue
to do his very best for the people of the LGA, praying for wisdom and strength
for him to do more.

 On his part,
Mr. Steve Moeteke who represented the chairman of Project Uduaghan
international, Mr. Tony Obuh, commended Hon. Ibude for promoting governor’s
Uduaghan’s 3 ponit agenda and encouraged him to continue with the good work he
is doing, noting that posterity will be favourable to him. He said that he was
pleased with P.U.I. in Ika South for their commitment and steadfastness and the
executive and members to continue to preach the gospel of good governance which
is the hallmark of the Uduaghan’s administration.
