2011: Politicians Pledge Support for Delta SSG

Top Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in Delta North Senatorial district have given  overwhelming support to the Secretary to the Delta State Government, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, on his interest to contest the Senatorial position in the 2011 general elections.

In Asaba last week, where Okowa formally declared his intention to contest for the post, prominent politicians from different parts of the Senatorial district expressed their satisfaction with his aspiration and pledged their support for him.

According to a statement issued and made available to THISDAY yesterday by the Personal Assistant to the SSG on Media, Kingsley Azuh, some politicians  who spoke at the event , described Okowa as a credible, focused and astute political leader with unassailable track record of performance.

They singled out Okowa’s robust political career and experience as well as his ability and commitment to positively touch the lives of many Deltans as well as the distinguished credentials that placed him above other aspirants.

“Dr. Okowa’s ambition to contest for the senatorial post has been accepted all because we know with his wealth of experience in the political circle in the state, Delta North has a lot to gain,” the statement said.

The political leaders also lauded Okowa’s track record of performance, adding that the aspirant’s records were unequalled and having performed well in the state, he could replicate same superlative records if voted in as Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District.
