CHUKY DANDY FORMALLY DECLARES FOR HOUSE OF REPS; VISITS IKA SOUTH, IKA N/E

                            

Mr. Festus Chukwuyem Okoh, popularly known as Chuky
Dandy by his admirers is the lastest to join the 2011 race. Mr. Okoh, with his
large supporters was at the Ika South secretariat of the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP, along Mariere Street,
Agbor to formally declare his interest to run for the House of Representatives.
He also visited Ika North East Local Government Area executive of the PDP,
where he equally made his intension know.

                            

In his declaration speech at both local government
areas, where he was received by large crowds of the party’s LGA and ward
executives, Mr. Okoh said he was moved to bring himself forward to contest the
seat of member of the House of Representatives to represent Ika federal
constituency, to contribute his quota in the collective effort to bring
development to Ikaland.

                            

The House of Representative hopeful said that it has
become imperative for there to be a generational shift in political
participation in Ika land, opining that the younger generation should be given
the opportunity and support to contribute their quota in the socio-political
advancement of Ika nation. He maintained that the youths have what it takes to
give effective and quality representation to the people of Ika nation at any
level of government.

 

“I have thought deeply about it and also made very
wide consultations before finally coming out. It is my strong desire to give
quality representation to my people at Abuja.
The people desire more than what they have gotten in the past. I am not saying
that others who have gone before me did not do well. I am only saying that I
will improve on the foundation they have laid,” he stated.

                            

Mr. Okoh who enumerated his agenda to include granting
of scholarship to indigents but intelligent students, assisting market women
with grants and creating an aquacultural programme for youths and adults, to make
them gainfully employed, said he will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that
Ika federal constituency gets what it deserved from the federal government, if
elected to represent them.

                            

“If I am given the mandate, it will be the beginng of
the activation of change in Ika land. I have seen the pains and deprivation of
my people. I have traveled wide and have come to the realization that Ika land
is lacking in many things. I will ensure that development comes to the area. I
will do that which will make my people to be proud of me. I promise to give
them quality representation” he promised.

                            

He promised to open constituency offices in both Ika
North East and Ika South Local Government Areas, and one each in Abavo and Ika
East, where the people can lodge their complaints and make their needs know to
him. He said he is not going to Abuja
for himself but to speak for the people of Ika nation. “I am not going to Abuja on my own. I am
hoping to go there to fight for the interest of my people. I will ensure that
what is due to Ika gets to the area. I am offering myself for service for the
people of Ika nation. I want to go there, and leave a legacy of sincere service
to my people. If we all stand as a people, we will surmount all challenges. So
I ask for your support, to enable me to be in the House of Representatives,
come 2011, he declared.
