MAN POISONS WIFE

A mother of three, Bridget Etuonuonye of Aliagwai in, Ika South Local Government Area has been allegedly killed by her husband through poisone which he (the husband) put in a gala he bought for her. The suspected killer who is a Panel-beater at Uromi Junction, Agbor hails from Alihame.    The ugly incident which took place at Mariere Lane Agbor, made the residents of the area speechless and wondered why a man could poison the mother of his children.    According to a family source, the alleged murdered husband gave his wife (Bridget) Gala at night when their children were already asleep, unknown to her that the gala was poisoned. The source said that immediately after eating the Gala, she slumped and started foaming from the mouth.    The source added that the shout from the late Bridget’s husband that fateful night attracted neighbours, who came to her rescue. However, efforts to save Bridget life yielded no result as she gave up the ghost on their way to the hospital. The source further disclosed that the deceased husband was said to be busy making phone calls to his relations and unknown persons that his wife is dead.    Ika weekly gathered that before the incident, on New Year’s Eve, Bridget husband came home with a chicken and few minutes later, the chicken slumped and started foaming, and that he ordered his wife and children to slaughter and eat it, as he will not part take in eating it, rather they should boil yam for him. The suspected murderer who was said to have ran to Alihame has since been arrested and has after interrogation by the police, claimed responsibly of the act.    At the time of filling this report the late mother of three has been deposited in one of the hospitals in Agbor.
