The state of roads in Agbor have become worse since
the inception of the rainy season. Almost all the  roads in the area have been ravaged by the
devastating effects of gully erosion, as motorcycles and even people
cannot pass through them without difficulties.

 Each time there
is a rainfall, residents cannot come out from their houses because of the fear
of being carried away by flood that flows through the narrow gutters.

It is however pertinent that politicians and
other  personalities in the area should
awake from their sleep and tackle the ugly menace.

To protect lives and properties, roads and gutters
must be fit. Because of bad state of the roads there have been cases of people
who lost their lives and properties worth million of naira.

Some of the residents who spoke to Ika Weekly on the
condition  of anonymity enjoined
government, Agbor sons and daughters who are occupying public  positions to remember their land and save
Agbor from turning into refuse dump. They noted that Agbor was better in the
1970’s compared to what it is now adding that we need to make Agbor an enviable
town as it used to be.

Some pointed out that streets like Upper Odozi in
Agbor which was awarded to a contractor has now been abandoned, as the state of
the road is now very bad. They urged the government to monitor project that are
awarded to contractors and ensured those projects are fully done and not
abandoned.

They called on the public not to throw refuse inside
the gutter, as most time the drainages are blocked, and this gives rise to the
destructions of our roads.
