NURTW, IKA SOUTH BRANCH “A” GETS NEW EXECUTIVE

 

Comrade Eddy
Ofuani has been sworn-in as the executive chairman, National Union of Road
Transport Workers (NURTW), Ika South branch “A” He was sworn-in alongside other
members of his executive at the union’s state secretariat in Asaba, the Delta
State capital on Friday, November 29 2013.

            The names of members of the new
executive are: Comrade Eddy Ofuani, branch chairman, Eboh Ologwa, 1st
Vice-Chairman, Friday Eluma, 2nd Vice-Chairman, Emmanuel Ibude, Secretary,
Napoleon Igharo, Assistant Secretary and Comrade Pius Okoh, Treasurer. Others
are: Comrade Jackson Nwaogi, Financial Secretary, Christian, Okafor, Organizing
Secretary, Johnbull Ahsien, 1st Trustee, Jacob Okwuogori 2nd Trustee and
Comrade Monday Ijedinma, 3rd Trustee. In an interview with Ika Weekly at the
branch secretariat, Oza House, Agbor on Wednesday, November 4, 2013, Comrade
Eddy Ofuani promised to carry everybody in the branch along, saying that his
executive is out for change, and ready to accommodate anyone who is a driver
without sentiment.

            In the words of Comrade. Ofuani, “My
executive will carry everybody along. We are out for positive change. As
chairman, Ika South Branch “A” I will make my members who did not know God
before now to know him because without God we cannot achieve anything on our
own. I am therefore calling on all our members who have left the branch to come
back for we are going to accommodate everybody. We will work with the state
government to ensure that there is peace in our union and also obey constituted
authorities in the state”  Comrade Ofuani
thanked the executive government of the State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the
Speaker and House of Assembly members, commissioners, especially the
commissioner of Transport, Mr. Ben Ibakpa, the national chairman of NURTW,
state chairman, Comrade Chief Ifeanyi Obi and members of his executive for the
great roles they played in ensuring that there is peace in the union in Ika
South Local Government.

            He also thank Chief Hon Dr. Cairo
Ojougboh, the Akinowa of Agbor kingdom, Ika South local government transition
committee chairman, Hon Engr. Andrew Obiazi, Peoples Democratic Party chairman
in Ika South LGA, Hon Isacc Ulebor for all their supports and also for making
sure that there is peace in the local government “I am going to pilot the
affairs of my branch in the fear of God because if I fail in my office, I will
not only be disappointing our people but also God. I will join hand with
government our leaders and security agencies to ensure that there is lasting
peace in Ika South” Comrade Ofuani stated.
