SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER CAUGHT

 

On Wednesday,
December 9, 2015 was a day of reckoning for one John Friday, popularly called
Timaya, as he was arrested by soldiers in Ika land while attempting to snatch a
motorcycle at a gun point along Dr. White Street, Agbor, in Ika South Local
Government Area.

            According to the soldiers, “On that
fateful day, we were on guard at the Living Faith Church (Winner’s Chapel)
during the church’s Shiloh programme at about 9pm when we suddenly heard gun
shot  around the area which made people
begin to scamper for safety. Immediately, we moved into the direction of the
gun shot we met on angry crowd met a 
beating up a young man whom they alleged was trying to snatch a
motorcycle at gun point. We therefore went in and arrest the suspect. Upon
interrogation, Timaya confessed that he was member of a three man gang who
specializes in dispossessing people of their motorcycles and other valuables at
gun point.”

            On his part, Timaya debunked the
claims of the soldiers, stating that he was innocent of all the allegations
against him.

            Eye witnesses who spoke under the
condition of anonymity said Timaya was a notorious criminal and cultist who
alongside his gang members has unleashed terror and mayhem in the community.
They maintained that the suspect should be persecuted and be made to face the
wrath of the law for his innumerable crime.

            At the time of filling this report, Timaya
has been handed over to police in Agbor Division for further investigations.
