Jesus came in a very bright light but very gentle – Pa Okowa

FATHER of the Delta State Secretary to the Government (SSG), Chief Arthur Okowa says that his freedom is victory for the entire Delta State, because, he overheard his abductors saying that their next target would be to kidnap civil commissioners one after  the other, if they had succeeded with him.
He made this revelation at Asaba yesterday when the state deputy governor, Professor Amos Utuama (SAN) led members of the State Executive Council (Exco) and other top government officials on a solidarity visit to him.

According to Pa Okowa, ?the victory that I have now is for Delta State because from the interviews that I had with them (his abductors), I knew that they were out to begin to attack if they succeeded with me, to begin to attack each commissioner, each executive member in the government.

?All they are saying is that some of their leaders are political leaders who are not within the government circle and they themselves need their own booties from the government. So I thank God that this victory is victory for Delta and for everyone of us.

?These boys?, he went on, ?came and took me away like criminal, tying my hands and gauging my mouth and covering my face and putting me in the booth of my car. I was driven away like a criminal.

?At that night from morning till 8.30 I cannot find anybody, I was locked up blindfolded, my mouth in chain, then I began to use my teeth to remove the chain. Finally I saw that I was in a room without windows, the door was locked from outside, then Jesus came in a very bright light but very gentle and stood and said behold I am with you.

?The way He (Jesus Christ) has visited me has made me to know that He is alive and will judge.

He is here watching us. Whatever we do He is here. So if I could live on four pieces of biscuits each day for these seven days. There is nothing impossible with God.

The deputy governor in his remark vowed that the state government would deal with the kidnappers decisively.  ?We shall make an example of the people behind this act?, he stated. .?

The septuagenarian father of the SSG was abducted from his residence at Boji Boji Owa, in Ika North East Local Government Area of the state penultimate Sunday and was rescued in a mafia-like operation led by his son, last Friday at about 11pm.

Although dependable sources said that some persons have been arrested in connection with the kidnap and kept in Benin, police authorities are yet to make categorical statement over the arrest and whether any ransom was paid or not.
