Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo has donated a Ford Ranger Hilux to Abavo Community in Delta State, in fulfilment of the promise he made last month, during the commissioning of road projects in Abavo, Ika South local government area.
Governor Dankwambo had promised to donate a Hilux patrol pick up to Abavo community to assist them in tackling security challenge in the community.
The brief presentation ceremony which took place at the Government House, Asaba, was supervised by the ADC to Delta State Governor, Frank Longe
The presentation was made by the former Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martins Okonta, and was received on behalf of Abavo Community, by the President General of Abavo Town Union, Mr. Jonathan Agbejiagwe, who was flanked by the Public Relations Officer, David Aigbe and Hon. Cosmas Igbenije.
In a brief remark, Mr. Agbejiagwe thanked Governor Dakwambo for his magnanimity, saying that in fulfilling a promise he made to the people of Abavo, the Gombe State governor had proven to be a man of honour.
He expressed the appreciation of the people of Abavo kingdom to Governor Dankwambo, and prayed God to continue to protect and promote him in his endeavours, even as he wished him well in his political career.
He equally thanked the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for the numerous achievements he has recorded in the last three years, especially for the road infrastructure and other developmental projects he has so far executed in Abavo Community, and across Delta State.
Speaking also, Hon. Cosmas Igbenije, who was visibly happy said, “by this gesture the Gombe State governor has demonstrated true and people centred leadership.” He expressed appreciation to the governor and wished him God’s continued blessing.
He also applauded Governor Okowa for the giant strides he has made in different sectors across the state, adding that the Delta State governor has endeared himself to Deltans through his superlative performance in the last three years.
