IKA WEEKLY PUBLISHER GIVES OUT DAUGHTER IN MARRIAGE

 

            Monday, December 30, 2013 was a day
to remember particularly for Mr. Steve Ekiri-Mekiriuwa, publisher of the
popular community newspaper, Ika Weekly and Mr. Jonah Okuderi families as their
children former Miss Sandra Oge Ashien and Endurance Elijah Okuderi were joined
together in holy matrimony as husband and wife.

            The solemnization took place at St.
Patrick Catholic Church, Ime Obi. Joining Sandra and Elijah together as husband
and wife, the parish priest, Rev. Fr Matthew Uwayah admonished them to build
their home in love and in the fear of God, stating that they should always
support, understand and tolerate each other. He enjoined parents of the couple
not to interfere in their children’s marriage. He wished them happy married and
prayed God to bless and prosper the marriage.

            After the solemnization service,
reception was held at Ezinne Event Centre in Boji-Boji Owa. The chairman of the
day was Mr. Chamberlain Dunkwu.  Prof.
Patrick Idoye who held brief for the chairman in his brief speech wished the
couple a happy married life, even as he encouraged them to sustain the love
that brought them together as husband and wife.

            The marriage ceremony was attended
by who is who in Ika nation. The list include: Chief elder John Ehikwe, Chief
Dr. Ifeanyi Ehijene, Chief Major F.N. Effam, (rtd), Prince Adams Gbenoba, Mr.
and Mrs. Afambu, Mr. Uche Nwani, Mr. A.J. Monye, M.G.U. Idiaghe Chief Dr. and
Mrs. Emmanuel U. Tibi, Mrs. Oma Shor, Dr. Ehikwe, Mr. Ewubor, Chief Sunny
Anumele, Chief S. Egede, Dr. and Mrs. Precious Emelue, who were sponsors of the
marriage, Mrs. Gbenoba, Chief Benard Nwaki, Real Admiral Peter Elumah; (rtd)
Hon Godwin Ezedom, Mr. Dede, Mr. Goddy Ibe, Hon Ifeanyi Eboigbe, and Chief
Godwin Ogadi. Others include: Mrs. H. Onwuka, family members both from Agbor
and Ute-Ohenze, Catholic Church members, members of Untouchable Church, staff
of Agbor Model Primary School , staff of Ika Weekly, Lady Dame Omumu, the cake
designer, Prof and Prof Mrs. Ogun, Monday Apaokwuze among others.
