Ika Weekly – The deteriorating condition of the Orogodo Bridge has become a source of concern to the people of Ika nation, particular residents of Boji-Boji metropolis.
Speaking to Ika Weekly over the problem, on Tuesday in his office, Mr. Sunny Ichazu Managing Director of Sonnet Alumunium in Agbor, said that it is sad seeing people having serious difficulty in passing through the bridge area, which is in a very terrible condition.
Mr. Ichazu lamented that successive governments in the past had paid deaf ears to the cries and request of the people to have the Old Lagos/Asaba road repaired. He pointed out that all the drainage systems leading to the river are all in dilapidated state, which has adversely effected the Orogodo river and the bridge.
Mr. Ichazu, who is also the Chairman of Aluminium Association of Nigeria (Ika chapter) however called on the state government, particularly the Secretary to the State Government, SSG whom he said is a son of the soil to bring his influence to bear in expediting the reconstruction and repairs of the Old Lagos/Asaba road and the Orogodo bridge.
