Ewuru community in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State has called on the State Government, corporate bodies, and public to come to their aid in the treatment of orthopaedic patients.
The community made the plea in a press interview with Ika Weekly on Tuesday at Ewuru.
Elder Sunday Chukwuma who spoke on behalf of the community disclosed that the Orthopaedic Nursing Home, Ewuru is capable of handling any bone fracture or dislocation but that it is being limited by lack of needed facilities.
The spokesperson revealed that the community had on several occasions levied themselves to raise money to upgrade the Nursing Home, noting that their modest attempts have only made minimal improvement.
Elder Chukwuma therefore pleaded with Ika Weekly to help in publishing the healing home, adding that they are willing to admit more patients once facilities are in place.
Government at all levels, corporate organizations and wealthy individuals, he said should always reach out to institutions that are in the business of saving lives, as according to him, “life is the most important thing in all creation”.
Ika Weekly will next week carry a detailed documentary on the Ewuru Orthopaedic Nursing Home, that will bring home the importance and role of such vital institutions.
The documentary will highlight the achievements and challenges of the home, with strong emphasis on the potency of the natural herbs used in treating patients.
