Last week, the Owa Oyibu high court presided over by Justice C.O Ogisi has sentenced an Owere Olubor famer Mr. Nkem Okolie to death by hanging for the murder Mr. Mathew Odum.
The accused was accused of shooting the deceased who went to the farm with his daughter. The accused was said to have attacked the deceased along with ten boys while the deceased was planting his yam before he was shot.
In court the prosecutor called five witnesses while the accused testified in his defence and the defence called no witness. The accused claimed he never knew the deceased and never farmed with him in the same place.
