NEW FRSC COMMANDER VISITS OWA GENERAL SECURITY OUTFIT – Ika Weekly

The Assistant Corps Commander (Acc) of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Acc-Bitrus Yildung who recently resumed office as Agbor Unit Commander and other top officers of the unit, on Friday, June 8, 2018, paid a familiarization visit to members of Owa General Security Outfit in Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking during his visit, the FRSC Unit Commander, Acc-Bitrus Yildung said their primary aim is to ensure that the road is safe for all users. He further noted that he and his team from the Agbor Command have decided to embark on the familiarization visit to members of Owa General security outfit to sensitize them on the principles to adopt while riding or driving their vehicles on the road.

Speaking further, the Commander disclosed that he has worked in all the 36 states of Nigeria and that one major advice he normally gives people in any state, local government or community he is transferred to, is to be careful when making use of the road. He stressed that carelessness is the reason why a lot of people die by accident every day.

He advised people not to be making or receiving phone calls, eating, drinking or allow any extraneous thought to interfere with their concentration when making use of the road. He encouraged everyone to desist from driving or riding if they are drunk as that is the most dangerous thing that causes accident on the road. He advised them to always service their vehicles, check  the tyres to see if they are good enough and above all, obey the Traffic Rules, by following the right way or stopping when it demands and move when the need arises.

Acc. Yildung therefore appealed to members of Owa General Security Outfit to help convey their messages to their people particularly their youths and ensure that they adhere to all the instructions, noting that accident will definitely reduce to its bare minimum by the time they start keeping to the rules and regulations that guide them when making use of the road. He advised everyone to call their Agbor Unit Command on No: 08077690522 and 122 which is their national No. for safety. He concluded by urging the members of Owa General Security Outfit to always come to him whenever his assistance is needed as his office is freely open to them for the safety and comfort of the people.

The Chairman of Owa General, Security Outfit Comrade Friday Buzugbe, on his part, appreciated the commander and the officers who accompanied him to their office for finding time to visit them. He promised to convey their messages to the youths of Owa Kingdom in particular and Ika North East in general. He promised that he and his team will assist the FRSC officers in any way they can to make sure that the road is safe for users.
