Ikaworld.com has received reports of serious riots and shoot-outs in Abavo yesterday July 13th 2012.
The reports indicate that Abavo youths were pasting posters showing a newly installed Obi (called Chukwuka Ekhator, Jegbefume III) in full regalia when the police attacked and began to arrest them. Many injured and arrested have been taken to Asaba while worried families are searching for their children.

In another earlier development, the Obi of Above has last Sunday, July 8th 2012, converted from Islam to Christianity. This now means that the Obi of Abavo is no longer a Muslim.
