Members of Agbor
Opinion Social league, a formidable group made up of prominent Agbor sons
particularly those working in Asaba have reiterated their commitment to the
development of Agbor kingdom. The group gave the assurance while playing host
to the president general, Agbor Community, Major-Gen Nick Agbogun, rtd, and
some members of his executive at Asaba, on Sunday 3rd March 2013.
The chairman of the league, Dr.
Cletus Otene, while welcoming the Gen Agborgun led Agbor community executive
said himself and his members feel honoured with the visit, stressing that the
need to help address the infrastructural problem in Agbor prompted them to
establish the league. He disclosed that the development of Agbor has always
been their top priority and that they will continue to champion the course till
every part of Agbor is developed. He promised that they will give their full
support to Gen. Agbogun and the entire Agbor community executive so that
together they will achieve their aim of making Agbor a better place to live in.
The secretary of the league,
Barr. C.F. Ebu, Mr. Kainji Aluge Obia and other members who spoke thanked the
Agbor community executive for the visit, saying that they have high regard for
the apex Agbor socio-cultural association, advising that it should remain focus and should not
allow any political interference. While urging the apex association to ensure
that there is vigilante group in every community in Agbor, they appealed to it
to carry the Agbor monarch along in all their activities.
Responding, Gen. Agbogun
commended Dr. Otene and members of his league for identifying with development
in their place of birth, stating that as an umbrella group, Agbor community
will work with all other groups under it.
According to him,” Agbor must
move forward and that is our mission.” Gen. Agbor Agbogun assured that all
Agbor indigenes will be carried along by the association.
On his part, the vice president,
Agbor community, Mr. Goddy Ibe said that Gen. Agbogun is very passionate about
the development of Agbor, hence, all Agbor indigenes should support Agbor
community under his leadership in order to move the kingdom forward.
