PCRC HOLDS MEETING, ELECTS NEW EXECUTIVE

 

Members of
Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC) Agbor saddled with the
responsibilities of service to humanity by ensuring peace and security in the
kingdom on Thursday 7th March, 2013 met to discuss issues as it concerns the
peace and security of Agbor kingdom.

                Giving the situation report on
the security in various communities in the area, members observed that some
vigilante chairmen and their groups are using the privilege given to them to
extort money from people.

                The Divisional Police Officer,
Agbor Command, SP. Dike Albert expressed sadness over the development, stating
that some members of the vigilante groups in Agbor, especially the Alihami
group have not been working according to the rules given to them.

                “Extortion of money from
students and handling of crime cases is supposed to be brought before the
police and not for the vigilante groups. And they are also not allowed to work
in favour to politicians”, he said.

                The Agbor DPO pointed that when
vigilante group started working in favour of politicians, it will make them to
work against the orders given to them.

                He warned all vigilante groups
to only report criminal cases  to the
police with immediate effect, stressing that any one of them caught moving
around with fire arms that  is not will
be arrested and prosecuted.

                Affirming that the Commissioner
of police has given an order to start disbanding any vigilante group which
violates the law. The DPO proceeded to order the immediate removal of the
Alihami vigilante chairman and others who are not working in accordance with
the police.

                Chief Igheghe appealed to the
DPO to help  intervene on the case of
those who are using motor cycle plate numbers bearing royal Palace, PDP, and
ACN, and Agbor vigilante, stressing that some of them are of a questionable
characters.

                In the same vein, the committee
stood to dissolve all standing executive of PCRC Agbor and thereby proceeded to
elect and inaugurate new executive member that will pilot the affairs of the
chapter for a period of  four 4 years.
Inaugurating the new executives SP Dike Albert thanked and congratulated the
immediate past executive of PCRC Agbor for their efforts and also described
them as the best group he has ever seen.

                He advice the new executive to
be fearless, vibrant, credible and able to represent the committee well.         

The election
which was held successfully had Chief Igheghe Darlington, emerged as the
chairman, Mr. Igudia Solomo, vice- chairman, Mr. Chuks Nwokoro, General
secretary, Pastor Rufus Emmanuel, Assistance general secretary. Mr. Iyaseh
Martins, financial secretary, Mr. Chuks Ajudionu, Assistant Auditor, Mr. Ngozi
Ajuebon, welfare officer, Mr. Friday Nkeki, chief provost, Mr. Augustine
Osiegbo, assistant provost, Mr. Agbango Friday, ex-officio and Mr. Godwin
Nkeki, ex-officio.

                Speaking with Ika Weekly, the
newly elected chairman, Chief Igheghe Darlington expressed joy and thanks to
God for making it possible for him, stating that he did his best in the past
regime by making sure that the police and the PCRC members are in good
relation. He promised to work together with members of his executive. He
further revealed that the PCRC patrons have not been functioning effectively
and supportive to the committee, adding that the house have resolve to dissolve
all existing patrons as new patrons will be elected to pilot the affairs of
PCRC Agbor chapter.

                Also speaking, Mr. Solomon
Igudia, vice chairman thanked God for his new position and also promised to
work in synergy together with his chairman to move PCRC forward.
