Police Officer in charge of Agbor station, SP. Dike U. Albert has blasted his
crities and also vowed to remain committed to his duty as police officer by
ensuring tha the life and property of people in Agbor are secured.
He made the vow in a chat with
Ika Weekly correspondent in his office.
The Agbor police boss revealed
that some set of people whom he described to be criminally minded are busy
writing petitions against him since he has refused to dance to their tune
asking for his transfer from Agbor.
According to him, “writing
petitions and seeking for my transfer from Agbor is not worth it because I am
carrying out the statutory responsibility saddled on me by the commissioner of
police, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba and the Nigeria Police by ensuring that lives and
property of the people in Agbor are protected and I have always done that
without fear nor favour.”
He noted that he is not
interested in any economic gain but rather, committed to do his job.
“I have my constituency which is
the Nigeria Police and I will do everything possible to satisfy my
constituency. I will also strive hard to
see that the confidence reposed on me by my CP and other superiors in rank will
not be in vain”, he said.
“I am also here in Agbor to
satisfy the masses irrespective of religion and tribes. As far as they are
resident in Agbor kingdom. My job is to protect their lives and property
and not to be intimidated by anybody”,
The DPO made it clear that
transfer is a normal routine in the Nigeria Police and not a punishment, adding
that he did not start police work in
Agbor and will definitely not end in Agbor.
He described himself as a
disciplined police officer who has zero tolerance for crime, even as he advice those who are seeking for
his transfer to desist from their evil act and focus on how they can assist the
police to wipe out crime in Agbor.
He disclosed that since he was
posted to Agbor, crime rate in the area has reduced. He commended the officers
of Agbor police station under him, PCRC, vigilante groups, and other well
meaning Agbor residents who have been feeding them with vital information.
He urged residents of Agbor to
have confidence in him, give him credible information, end visit his office or
call him through his mobile phone numbers as he has promised to be at their
service at all time.
