MBIRI PROGRESSIVE UNION DID NOT PASS A VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE ON DELTA STATE GOVT.

 Mbiri
Progressive Union (MPU), has distanced itself from the publication of last week
in Ika Weekly credited to Rev. Ignatius Ogboi, which caption bears “Mbiri
Progressive Union passes a vote of no confidence on Delta State Government”.

                Speaking to newsmen on Thursday
9th May, 2013 at Agbor, the president general, Mbiri Progressive Union (MPU),
Mr. Ugboko Vincent Ifeanyi said that MPU is fully in support of the Governor
Emmanuel Uduaghan administration and will not in any way contribute to its
failure.

                According to him, “Mbiri
Progressive Union, which represents Mbiri community never met to discuss or
pass a vote of no confidence on the Delta State Government under the leadership
of Governor Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan as reported in a statement credited to Rev.
Ogboi Ignatius on page 3 of Ika Weekly Newspaper of Saturday May 4- Saturday
May 11, 2013.

“We stand to say that Rev. Ogboi
Ignatius was not well informed about the dividends of democracy Mbiri Community
has been enjoying under the administration of Governor Uduaghan. Good example
of the dividends is the road rehabilitation contract  which was duly awarded in August, 2011,
andwhich is on-going.

                “Therefore, we stand to condemn
such attitude of his and warned that any individual or group from the community
should desist from using the name of MPU to carry out any frivolous comments,
suggestions or publications that are capable of bringing disunity between the
government, and the community.

                “Mbiri community is law abiding
and it does not want anything that will tarnish its good image, and peace not
even from politicians.”
