DESTINY OKORO ORDAINED AS CAPTAIN OF BOYS BRIGADE

It was all joy
at St Michael Anglican Church located along Ute-Okpu Road, Owa-Alero, in Ika
North East Local Government Area, as
family members and well-wishers rolled out drums on Sunday 26th May,
2013, to witness the ordination of Mr. Destiny Udoka Okoro as Captain of Boys
Brigade of St. Michael Anglican Church, Owa-Alero, Ika Diocesan group
council.  Speaking on the  “secret of blessing” Ven Palmer E.O. Melekwe,
read from 2 Corinthians 9v7, and 2kings 4v8-17. He urged the members of the
brigade  to eschew the mundane things of
the world and embrace the word of God.

Ven. Melekwe
enjoined the congregation to shun vain material attachments that are prevalent
in the society of today and embrace the riches embedded in giving, adding that
it is more blessed to give than to receive. He
used the occasion to remind faithfuls that the gathering of the day was
a gathering of those called to the service of God and humanity.

The Vicar also
used the occasion to recapitulate the functions of Boys Brigade in the church
to include assisting in security matters and many more.

He promised them
that the only sure way to happiness and fulfillment in the house of God is by
proper administration of their God given responsibilities.

High point was
the ordination of Mr. Destiny Udoka Okoro as a captain of Boys Brigade of St.
Michaels Anglican Church Owa-Alero company, Ika Diocesan group council.
